The Pink Cloud Connect is thrilled to have Team Sharing at our 2nd Annual SoberFest. Team Sharing is such an important resource. The Founder and President, Cheryl Juaire, created this non profit to help others after a tragic experience of her own -
Cheryl is the proud mom of three sons: Robert, Sean and Corey. In 2011, at the beginning of the opioid epidemic, Corey died of an overdose at age 23. At the time, Cheryl didn’t know anyone with a child who had died, let alone from an overdose. And for the next two and a half years, she and her family grieved alone. Then one night, she received an invitation to meet other mothers who had lost a child from an overdose. It was then that she knew how much grieving parents, parents whose child had died from SUD, needed one another.
In 2015, Cheryl founded Team Sharing – MA, a support group within her own state where parents meet and support one another and has since started chapters in 25 other states that do the same, including the national chapter TEAM SHARING.
In 2017, six years after Corey’s death, Team Sharing, Inc became a 501(c)3, nationwide support network for families who have lost a loved one through addiction. Cheryl’s grief, though it does not define her, has inspired her to reach every family, in all 50 states, that are grieving from the loss of their child through addiction, as well as those children that were left behind. In 2021 Cheryl lost another son, Sean, to the disease of addiction.
Cheryl has dedicated her life work in advocacy, to help bring awareness to the disease of addiction and to help to end the stigma that comes with it. Cheryl has worked tirelessly across the states in trying to get our flags lowered to half staff on August 31st, International Overdose Awareness Day and has been successful with 13 states. In September 2019 Cheryl was chosen by the United States Trustee’s office to sit on the Unsecured Creditors Committee in the Purdue Bankruptcy, doing her role to hold them accountable in this crisis. In 2021 Cheryl was a guest of Congresswoman Lori Trahan at the State Of The Union Address at the Capital. Cheryl’s latest venture is to have Overdose Awareness license plates on every vehicle in Massachusetts. Cheryl and her husband, Peter, live in Central Massachusetts. They are the proud grandparents of 7 children including Faith, Corey’s daughter, and Seanna and Jonathon, Sean’s children. They are also the great grandparents to 2 more and 1 on the way!
